Restaurant Reviews for Cafe
exclusively by: JAKARTA FOOD HUNTER

Segarra
By: dot, May 2010
Segarra    This restaurant is located on a quieter side of Ancol Beach. The restaurant consists of many sections: a two story modern architecture building with glass, a patio on the second floor, a nearby building with semi outdoor design, and also tables and sofas by the beach.

We went there because many of our friends say that when they are at that restaurant, they feel like they are in Bali. And they were right! The view was spectacular! It's a perfect place to bring your lover, friends and family. The lovers can sit and enjoy the food watching the sun goes down, the family can enjoy the food while letting the children play in the playground (this place have a section where children can build sand castle or just simply play with the white sand), the elder children can go and play at the beach.

We went there at the perfect time, sunset. However, since we didn't call to reserve in advance (we were just passing by after having a very late lunch at the nearby restaurant, Bandar Jakarta), we could not get the seat by the beach. We were offered a seat on the 2nd floor patio. It was a very good spot as well, I should say. From that place, we could enjoy an almost 360 degree view. The pier on the right side, the ocean up front, and some factory on our right hand side (which is not too pretty), and also we can see the kite parade in the Festival Beach on the rear side.

Our friends said that this restaurant provides one of the best tasting chili crab and fried rice in town. However, I won’t be able to provide a food review, since we were just finished our super late lunch at Bandar Jakarta just a while before going to Segarra. So we just ordered some drinks (strawberry juice, passion fruit flavored ice tea, and ice chocolate), and snack (fried mantou). Drinks were regular. However, the view was not. When the sunset came, the sky turned amber color, and the water turned into pinkish color. Such a breathtaking view. Recommended time to go: sunset. Attire: Casual. Call to make an appointment to get the best spot.
